Recently, it was learned from Shanghai Shentie that Bid Section 15 of the Jiamin Line of the Shanghai Suburban Railway has achieved important construction progress. As the cutterhead of "Pioneer No. 1", the first 9-meter-class earth pressure balance shield machine on the entire line, slowly began to rotate, the shield tunneling section on the right line from Hongqiao Station to Yingbin Sanlu Station successfully launched, marking that the Jiamin Line has officially entered the shield construction stage.

The shield tunneling section from Hongqiao Station to Yingbin Sanlu Station in Bid Section 15 of the Jiamin Line has a double-track length of about 338.4 meters, a maximum longitudinal slope of 29.4‰, and a tunnel crown burial depth of 6.33 to 17.45 meters.

"Based on the actual site conditions, two 9-meter-class earth pressure balance shield machines are used for construction in the section, and both lines launch from Yingbin Sanlu Station and advance to the receiving shaft at Hongqiao Station," introduced a relevant person in charge from Shanghai Shentie. Among them, "Pioneer No. 1" shield machine is responsible for advancing the right line of the section, and the other "Pioneer No. 2" shield machine is responsible for advancing the left line of the section and has now completed commissioning.

It is also learned that the main structure of Zone 3 of Chengbei Road Station in Bid Section 1 of the Jiamin Line has successfully topped out, and the main foundation pit of the No. 2 ventilation shaft in Bid Section 10 has successfully reached the bottom.

The Jiamin Line has a total length of 44.04 kilometers, passes through two administrative districts, Jiading and Minhang, and has 15 stations in total, with a maximum operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour. According to the plan, it is an important north-south main trunk line in the Shanghai suburban railway network, a major line connecting important new towns and transportation hubs such as Jiading New Town, Hongqiao Hub, and Minhang, and also an important component of the "Yangtze River Delta on Rails". After the project is completed, it will realize interconnection with the Airport Link Line, greatly ease the pressure of passenger collection and distribution at Hongqiao Hub, and become a new engine driving the economy of western Shanghai.
