In the early hours of the 30th, the Liujiazui Bridge, a key bridge project on the Ningxia section of the Yinchuan-Kunming Expressway, was successfully closed, laying the foundation for the full line to be completed and opened to traffic in 2024.

The bridge has a total length of 819 meters, with piers up to 58 meters high and a maximum span of 120 meters. It is a key controlling project on the Ningxia section. Because the project crosses a collapsible loess plateau region, to ensure project quality, the project team adopted a real-time concrete temperature control data system and a real-time meteorological environment monitoring system, effectively improving construction efficiency.

Liu Xing'an, project manager of the Liujiazui Bridge on the Ningxia section of the Yinchuan-Kunming Expressway: When we pour concrete, the ambient temperature is generally controlled at around 5-15°C, which can effectively prevent deformation of the corrugated steel webs and concrete and ensure concrete strength and density. At the same time, we also adopted corrugated steel web continuous box girder technology, which is lightweight and has strong deformation resistance and seismic resistance, effectively improving the safety and service life of bridges with special structures under special climate conditions.

The Yinchuan-Kunming Expressway starts in Yinchuan City, Ningxia, passes through Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan and Chongqing, and ends in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It has a total length of 2,322 kilometers and a design speed of 80-100 kilometers per hour. Among them, the Ningxia section is about 237 kilometers long in total. After completion and opening to traffic, it will achieve interconnectivity with multiple expressways such as the Fuzhou-Yinchuan, Qingdao-Lanzhou and Jinghua expressways, improving travel conditions for people along the route.
