On the afternoon of July 12, the 126-meter-long Pingyi Expressway bridge spanning the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway was completed, laying the foundation for finishing the road-related works on schedule and restoring mainline traffic on the Wushi Interchange section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway. According to the construction schedule, mainline traffic on the Wushi Interchange section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway is expected to resume on September 20, about 10 days earlier than originally planned.

The Wushi Hub Interchange of the Pingyi Expressway is located at kilometer 1430 of the Yueyang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway, south of the Pingjiang West Toll Station. It includes two underpasses and one bridge crossing over the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway.

The Pingyi Expressway is an important support for the interprovincial corridor along the Hunan-Jiangxi border and the red tourism transport network in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area. It starts in Shiniuzhai Town, Pingjiang County, and ends in Bijia Mountain, Heshan District, Yiyang City, with a mainline length of 176.66 kilometers and an estimated total investment of 24.324 billion yuan. As of June, the project had completed a cumulative investment of 16.355 billion yuan.

At present, the entire line is seizing the golden construction season and setting off a boom of vigorous construction. The Pingyi Expressway is expected to be fully completed and opened to traffic in 2022.
