On July 11, the Wenzhou Aojiang River Crossing Bridge, constructed by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., was completed and opened to traffic.

The bridge spans the Aojiang River in Wenzhou, connecting Pingyang County and Longgang City. The project has a total length of 3.85 kilometers, with six lanes in both directions and a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The river-crossing bridge is 1,507.5 meters long, with a main span of 320 meters and a pylon height of 22 meters. It is an extradosed cable-stayed bridge, and its main bridge box girder is a single-box five-cell cantilever cast-in-place box girder with a width of 38 meters, which is rare in China.

During the construction of the bridge, the project team of CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. adhered to a professional, standardized, refined, and information-based construction management model. They overcame technical challenges such as seepage prevention of super-long deep-water steel sheet piles and one-time casting of the single-box five-cell cantilever cast-in-place box girder. They also successfully withstood typhoons including Meranti, Megi, Nesat, Maria, and Bailu, and overcame harsh conditions such as the "danger" of over-water high-altitude operations, the "heat" of continuous high-temperature operations, and the "wetness" of frequent plum rain weather.

The Wenzhou Aojiang River Crossing Bridge is an important section of National Highway 228, a coastal major corridor in the National Highway Network Plan (2013-2030). Together with the Wenzhou Oujiang South Estuary Bridge, already built by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., and the Wenzhou Oujiang North Estuary Bridge, currently under construction, it is a control project of National Highway 228.

After the Wenzhou Aojiang River Crossing Bridge opened to traffic, it greatly shortened the driving time from Cangnan County and Longgang City to Wenzhou. It will strengthen the socioeconomic ties between Longgang City and Pingyang County, Ruian City, and the main urban area of Wenzhou, help improve the infrastructure of the coastal industrial belt, and enhance connections among areas within the coastal industrial belt. It is of great significance for accelerating the construction of Wenzhou's sub-center of the metropolitan area and promoting economic development in the Aojiang River basin.
