The reporter recently learned that in order to further strengthen the management of deep foundation pit support for construction projects in the central urban area of Xiangyang City, the Municipal Safety Station has issued a supplementary regulation notice to further tighten operational requirements.

The supplementary regulations require that construction projects in the central urban area without deep foundation pit support design drawings that have passed drawing review, or without a deep foundation pit support construction plan, shall not proceed with construction; those that construct without design drawings that have passed review, construct without a construction plan, fail to construct according to the drawings, or fail to construct according to the plan shall all be penalized at the maximum level and ordered to make corrections; deep foundation pit support piles and deep foundation pit waterproof curtains must be tested before deep foundation pit excavation, and the testing shall be carried out by a single testing agency, which shall be responsible for the test results; the testing of waterproof curtains shall strictly follow regulations using physical detection and core sampling methods. It is reported that these regulations take effect on January 1, 2016. Where previous regulations differ from these regulations, these regulations shall prevail; matters not covered by these regulations shall still be governed by the original regulations.
