Reporters learned from the Chongqing Municipal Water Resources Bureau on the 12th that from 8:00 on the 11th to 8:00 on the 12th, rainstorms occurred in 16 districts and counties of the city, of which 12 experienced torrential rain. Affected by the rainfall, 29 rivers in Chongqing exceeded warning water levels, of which 16 exceeded guaranteed water levels.

75-Year-Old Yang Jiyi Has Guarded Yanghou Covered Bridge for Fifty Years

July 9 — Yanghou Bridge is located in Yanghou Natural Village, Waitun Village, Waitun Township, Zhenghe County, Nanping City, Fujian Province. Its original construction date is unknown; the existing wooden arch covered bridge was built in the tenth month of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1850 AD) and has a history of more than 170 years. The arch spans 33 meters, is 4.86 meters wide, and the bridge house roof stands 25.6 meters above the river surface. It is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province and was included in the "China World Cultural Heritage Tentative List" in 2012.
