In the early hours of September 21, the main span of the continuous girder crossing the Songtie Expressway on the Guangxi section of the newly built Hepu-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway) was successfully closed, marking new progress in the project's construction.

The main span of the continuous girder closed this time is 72 meters, an important part of the extra-large bridge crossing the Songtie Expressway on the Guangxi section of the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway. To ensure the construction safety of the continuous girder, the construction agent Yungui Railway Guangxi Company organized the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway project departments of China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group and China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group to formulate a detailed construction plan and strictly control key procedures. From concrete mixing and transportation to pouring and vibration, technical personnel were arranged to supervise the entire process, ensuring that every step was precisely implemented and executed to standard.
Fully enclosed form traveler construction was adopted, with protective scaffolding installed to prevent construction materials from falling onto the Songtie Expressway and to ensure that daily highway operations are not affected by construction. It is understood that the extra-large bridge crossing the Songtie Expressway on the Guangxi section of the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway is located in Hepu County, Beihai City, Guangxi, with a total length of about 4,644 meters.
The main line of the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway is about 139 kilometers long, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is an important part of the Baotou (Yinchuan)-Haikou Corridor and the Coastal Corridor in China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. As of now, on the Guangxi section of the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway, 11,328 bridge pile foundations have been completed, 1,164 bridge piers have been built, 77 box girders have been erected, and 930,000 cubic meters of subgrade earthwork have been completed. The project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2028, which is of great significance for expanding the railway transport capacity along the Guangxi coast, optimizing and improving the regional railway network layout, and promoting the construction of the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration.
