In order to fully understand the actual operating condition of the city-administered bridges in the central urban area and effectively strengthen the urban road traffic safety defense line, the Jingzhou Municipal Public Facilities and Environmental Sanitation Center recently joined forces with a third-party professional testing agency,Gezhouba Testing Companyto officially launch the special periodic inspection of city-administered bridges in the central urban area.

　　In this bridge inspection, a comprehensiveroutine periodic inspectionwas carried out on39city-administered bridges in the central urban area of Jingzhou, while10key bridges were selected forstructural periodic inspection; the inspection work will last about30days.

　　The inspection scope covers all bridge structures, with a focus on checking vulnerable and high-risk parts such as bridge pile foundations, piers, bearings, girders and slabs, bridge deck pavement, expansion joints, and guardrails, and accurately verifying whether there are safety hazards such as cracks, settlement, damage, aging, and looseness.

　　At the same time, relying on the testing data of professional agencies, the operating baseline of each bridge will be fully identified,the testing data will be summarized and analyzed, and the safety hazards found during the inspection will be systematically assessed, so as to scientifically and orderly advance maintenance, reinforcement, and rectification work and effectively eliminate safety hazards in their infancy.

　　The Municipal Public Facilities and Environmental Sanitation Center will take this inspection work as an opportunity to improve the long-term mechanisms for routine bridge inspection, refined maintenance, and dynamic control, and continue to advance routine inspection and maintenance of infrastructure such as city-administered urban bridges and roads, thereby providing solid municipal facility support for the safe and convenient travel of the general public and the high-quality development of the city.
