On the 20th, box girder erection was completed for the Nankang East Main Canal Grand Bridge in the Guangxi section of the newly built Hepu-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway), marking the smooth completion of the main structure of the first bridge on the entire He-Zhan High-Speed Railway line and new progress in the project's construction.

The Nankang East Main Canal Grand Bridge is located in Tieshangang District, Beihai City, Guangxi. The bridge has a total length of about 1,270 meters and requires the construction of 295 pile foundations and 35 pier columns, as well as the erection of 36 simply supported box girders. Each simply supported box girder is 32.6 meters long and weighs 760 tons, and is integrally cast with high-performance concrete, which can effectively adapt to the high-salt and high-humidity natural environment of coastal areas and ensure the safety and stability of high-speed railway operations in the future. The construction unit adopted domestically advanced intelligent bridge erection equipment to carry out high-precision control throughout the girder erection process, ensuring that the box girders were erected successfully in a single operation.
Zhao Yanguo, head of the Beihai Girder Fabrication Yard of the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway under China Railway 16th Bureau, introduced that the Nankang East Main Canal Grand Bridge is a key girder erection passage for the Beihai Girder Fabrication Yard, the largest girder fabrication yard in the Guangxi section of the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway. The completion of the bridge's main structure on schedule will create favorable conditions for subsequent box girder transportation and girder erection operations.
The main line of the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway is about 139 kilometers long, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is an important component of the Baoji (Yinchuan)-Haikou Corridor and the Coastal Corridor in China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. The project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2028, which will further expand the railway transport capacity along the coast of Guangxi and is of great significance for optimizing and improving the regional railway network layout and promoting the construction of the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration.
Tang Ling, a senior engineer at the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway Construction Command of Yun-Gui Railway Guangxi Company, introduced that as of now, all bridges in the Guangxi section of the He-Zhan High-Speed Railway have started construction, 10,853 bridge pile foundations have been completed, 975 bridge piers have been built, and 720,000 cubic meters of subgrade earth and stone works have been completed.
