Recently, the underwater works of the Changsha Xiangjiang Railway Mega Bridge, constructed by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, have been essentially completed, and the above-ground elevated section has fully entered the construction phase, laying a solid foundation for the next stage of construction.

The Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway is a key section of the Xiamen-Chongqing Corridor, one of the main corridors of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. The line passes through three subdistricts in Wangcheng District—Baishazhou, Dazehu, and Yueliangdao—covering five administrative villages and communities including Maqiaohe Village, Dongma Community, Nantang Village, Zhonghualing Village, and Yueliangdao Community, with a total length of 7.9 kilometers. Once the project is completed, it will greatly enhance the efficiency of transportation connectivity between Hunan and Jiangxi provinces and support coordinated regional economic development.

"The bridge project has a designed total of 5,102 pile foundations, of which 1,251 have been completed; 561 pile caps are designed, of which 77 have been completed; and 561 pier shafts are designed, of which 61 have been completed," said the project manager of the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group's Changsha-Ganzhou Railway (Wangcheng Section) project. As a controlling works of the project, all pile foundations for the main piers of the Changsha Xiangjiang Railway Mega Bridge have been completed, with only 4 pile foundations remaining for the side piers and auxiliary piers. At present, the construction team is concentrating its efforts on advancing the trench milling construction for the main pier cofferdams, laying the foundation for the full-scale construction of pile caps and pier shafts in the next stage.

It is understood that the main bridge of the Changsha Xiangjiang Railway Mega Bridge on the Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway has a total length of 768.1 meters and adopts a cable-stayed bridge design, crossing the main navigation channel of the right branch of the Xiangjiang River. To ensure the smooth implementation of this key node, the project department organized scientifically and coordinated scheduling, overcame challenges such as the high difficulty of underwater construction and tight schedules, strictly implemented safety production and environmental protection measures, and made every effort to guarantee project quality and progress.

After the Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will significantly shorten the travel time and distance between Changsha, Ganzhou, and cities along the route, further optimize the railway network structure in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area and along the line, and inject strong momentum into coordinated regional economic and social development.
