On May 29, the first pile foundation for the entire G329 Xida Road Yangwang-Chaohu Boundary Section Reconstruction Project was drilled, marking the project's official transition into the bridge main structure construction phase. At the same time, a number of key road network projects in the city have also made new progress.

According to reports, the G329 Xida Road Yangwang-Chaohu Boundary Section Reconstruction Project is located in Feidong County, Hefei City. Its starting point connects directly to the endpoint of the G329 Xida Road Machang-Hepu Section, and the route runs along the south side of Xishanyi Street, ending at the boundary between Chaohu and Feidong. The total length is about 6.78 kilometers, and it is built to Class I highway standards with two-way four lanes and a design speed of 80 km/h. The entire line includes 2 bridges (including the large bridge over the S90 Feidong Branch Line and the Xishanyi Medium Bridge), and it is an important trunk highway connecting Hefei and Chaohu.

The first pile foundation drilled this time is located on the left side of Pier 10 of the separated overpass over S90, with a pile length of 25 meters and a pile diameter of 1.7 meters. "The construction area is adjacent to the S90 expressway, with many cross-operation points and intermingled personnel and machinery, making on-site coordination and control extremely difficult." According to the relevant person in charge of the Hefei municipal construction department, in order to ensure the smooth drilling of the first pile, the construction unit planned in advance, refined the construction plan, and fully equipped materials and machinery, ultimately achieving the set goal. Next, the construction unit will make every effort to advance the project construction and strive to return the road to the public as soon as possible. After the entire project is completed, it will fill the shortcomings of the national and provincial road network in eastern Hefei and promote interconnection among Hefei, Chaohu, and the Wanjiang City Belt.

In addition to the G329 Xida Road Yangwang-Chaohu Boundary Section Reconstruction Project, a number of key road network projects such as the Xiyou Road (Kexue Avenue-Fangxing Avenue) Section Reconstruction Project have also made new progress. The Xiyou Road (Kexue Avenue-Fangxing Avenue) Section Reconstruction Project is implemented according to urban trunk road standards, creating a modern two-way six-lane road with a design speed of 60 km/h. Differentiated reconstruction plans are adopted according to the characteristics of different sections. For example, for the early-built Xiangzhang Avenue-Yulan Avenue section, the damaged concrete pavement will be upgraded to asphalt pavement, and damaged asphalt pavement in other sections will be repaired at the same time; in the Fenglehe Road-Wenqu Road section and the Shilian South Road-Fangxing Avenue section, non-motorized lanes and sidewalks will be added to improve the slow-traffic system. The project also includes the construction of a 2.1-kilometer underground utility tunnel to achieve an "underground upgrade" of municipal facilities, and more than 20 new multifunctional integrated streetlight poles. As of now, the main lane reconstruction of the project has been fully completed and was officially opened to traffic recently.

In the southwestern cluster of Hefei, Zhanxia Road is an important urban trunk road that undertakes the important traffic function of daily commuting and living travel for residents in the area. However, the original two-way four-lane traffic specification can no longer adapt to the growing traffic volume, and congestion problems occur frequently during morning and evening peaks. The core construction content of this reconstruction project is to widen and upgrade the original two-way four lanes to two-way six lanes, and simultaneously implement ancillary projects such as drainage pipeline network upgrades, road lighting renewal, traffic sign improvements, and greening enhancement along the route. As of now, the upgrading and reconstruction project has been completed and was opened to traffic recently, which will effectively ease traffic pressure on surrounding road networks such as Jinzhai South Road and Tanchonghu Road.

In addition, a "dead-end road" in Yaohai District, Hefei City (the sidewalk on the northwest side of the intersection of Huainan Road and Qinglong Road) and a "one-meter road" (the sidewalk on the north side of the intersection of Yuxi Road and Fanchang Road) have also been reconstructed, winning praise from nearby residents. The Yaohai District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau stated that it will continue to use "micro-renovation" and "rapid improvement" to enhance urban quality and travel experience, making travel smoother and more reassuring for the public.
