As a key livelihood project to improve the county road network of Dehua and open up external access routes for the mountainous area, the Dehua Caocun Interchange project on the Shaxian-Xiamen Expressway has advanced steadily since construction began in early 2025. As of now, overall construction progress has exceeded 50%. Subgrade excavation is essentially complete, with overall subgrade progress reaching 70%; all bridge pile foundations have been completed, the substructure is 80% complete, and superstructure construction is proceeding in an orderly manner; the basement roof of the toll station management building has been successfully poured, marking a milestone achievement in the building works.
Once completed, the project will effectively unlock the traffic capacity of the Shaxian-Xiamen Expressway, break down transportation barriers in the mountainous area, help drive the coordinated development of Dehua's distinctive mountain industries and cultural tourism resources, and benefit local residents.
