At 6:38 on June 8, the first pile foundation of the Wuhan Baishazhou Road-Rail Dual-Purpose Yangtze River Bridge, invested in and constructed by the Yangtze River Coastal Railway Group and built by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., was drilled, marking the official entry of the entire line into the main construction stage.

It is understood that the main bridge and the approach bridges on both banks of the Wuhan Baishazhou Road-Rail Dual-Purpose Yangtze River Bridge span the Yangtze River from Baishazhou, with the south bank in Hongshan District of Wuhan and the north bank in Hanyang District of Wuhan. The main bridge is a steel truss cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 1,338 meters, located 75 meters upstream of the existing Baishazhou Yangtze River Highway Bridge. It adopts a combined form with a highway on the upper deck and a railway on the lower deck, carrying four railway tracks and a six-lane urban expressway.

The first pile foundation constructed this time is 43 meters long and 1 meter in diameter, located beside the Third Ring Road in Hongshan District, Wuhan, adjacent to existing municipal roads and urban underground pipelines. The construction environment is constrained and protection requirements are high. The project team held several special production meetings, actively communicated and coordinated with relevant units, and completed site surveys, raw material tests, and material preparation in advance, with the preliminary operations successfully passing acceptance.

At the same time, the on-site work team strengthened construction organization, deploying more than 40 person-times and 10 sets of equipment to fully ensure continuous, smooth, safe, and efficient construction.

"As a key project for building the high-speed railway corridor along the Yangtze River and connecting the Wuhan-Xi'an High-Speed Railway, we feel a great responsibility on our shoulders. Since entering the site, we have raced against time to seize the golden construction period," said project manager Zhou Leping. At present, more than 500 people have been mobilized to the project, the project camp has been occupied, the construction and acceptance of the steel processing plant and mixing station have been completed, 389 meters of trestle bridge have been erected, and the construction work fronts have been fully opened up. "Next, we will continue to strictly control safety and quality, optimize the connection between processes, and ensure the efficient advancement of subsequent construction."

After completion, the Wuhan Baishazhou Road-Rail Dual-Purpose Yangtze River Bridge will be of great significance for improving the regional transportation network, strengthening the function of the national comprehensive transportation hub, supporting the coordinated development of the regional economy, and enhancing the city's comprehensive capacity.
