As an interprovincial express corridor connecting Qinghai and Gansu provinces, the project is located in Minhe County and Xunhua County of Haidong City, with a total route length of 29.443 km. It is built to Class I highway standards with a design speed of 80 km/h, and includes 25 bridges and 7 tunnels, with a total bridge length of 11,161.22 m and a total tunnel length of 21,527.15 m. The bridge-tunnel ratio is 55%, and the estimated investment is 5.669 billion yuan.

During construction, relying on the complex geological conditions of the Yellow River canyon, the project focused on overcoming the challenges of highly difficult bridge construction and alpine safety protection, specifically addressing the construction barriers of deep-water bare-rock pile foundations, steel pipe arch bridges, and long-span continuous girder bridges. It completed the construction of 32 ultra-long deep-water pile foundations and achieved a 100% success rate in one-time concrete injection for 16 main arch ribs; it innovatively adopted a boiler hot-water circulation insulation system to maintain the pipeline at a constant temperature of about 10°C, thoroughly eliminating the hidden risk of freezing and blockage in fire protection pipelines in alpine tunnels; and it upgraded high-slip-resistant reflective markings for rainy nights, increasing the visibility distance on the road section by more than 40% on rainy nights, striving to build a safe, durable, and comfortably traversable ecological tourism highway in the Yellow River canyon. Since official construction began in August 2022, the project has scientifically coordinated the construction schedule, and project construction has advanced steadily and efficiently. Up to now, subgrade, conventional bridge, and culvert works have been basically completed; all 7 tunnels along the route have been holed through; construction of the arch columns and bent caps of the key node project, the Jishixia Yellow River Grand Bridge, has been fully completed; the Yisai Yellow River Grand Bridge has successfully completed full-bridge closure; and major control bridge projects have made orderly breakthroughs. At present, the focus is on advancing ancillary works such as pavement paving and traffic safety facilities. The section from the Chuanda Expressway to the Linda Expressway was completed and put into use on January 1, 2026, and the entire line is planned to be opened to traffic in December 2027.
