Recently, at the Pengze Gande Wharf project site, multiple large machines were operating intensively, and construction workers wearing safety helmets were carrying out the wharf's foundation works in an orderly manner.

The Pengze Gande Wharf project is a key water transport project to accelerate the improvement of the comprehensive transport and freight system of the Pengze port area. It is planned to build one 5,000-tonne general cargo berth and two 5,000-tonne bulk cargo berths, with a designed annual throughput of 5.35 million tonnes. According to Fan Xiaofeng, head of the engineering department of the Pengze Gande Wharf project, the project is expected to be completed by the end of February 2028. At present, the offshore steel platform works and the approach bridge pile foundation works are both about 60% complete, and for the land-side works, the drainage board construction and vacuum membrane laying for the foundation treatment of Cargo Shed No. 1 have been completed, and the earthwork filling for the integrated building has been basically completed.

The project manager said: "After the Pengze Gande Wharf project is completed, it will significantly enhance the scale and specialization of operations in the Pengze port area, promote the coordinated development of the port with the logistics parks and port-side industries behind it, and effectively reduce the comprehensive logistics costs of bulk materials and general cargo in the hinterland of northern Jiangxi."
