Recently, the Shenzhen Airport East Station project on the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway, constructed by China Railway Sixth Group, reached an important construction milestone: the first foundation pit section of the central island was successfully excavated to the bottom, and the first base slab cushion was poured simultaneously. The achievement of this key milestone marks a major breakthrough in the project's construction, creating favorable conditions for subsequent waterproofing, steel structure, and main structure construction, and laying a solid foundation for completing the overall project milestones on schedule.

The foundation pit of the Shenzhen Airport East Station project is approximately 697 meters long, with an excavation depth of 26 meters. The construction environment is complex and technical requirements are high. Among these, excavating the central island foundation pit to the bottom is one of the key controlling milestones in project advancement, placing extremely high demands on construction organization, technical support, and safety management.
To ensure the smooth excavation of the first foundation pit section to the bottom, the project department coordinated efforts across all elements of "personnel, machinery, materials, methods, and environment," systematically formulated construction organization plans, and fully implemented safety and quality responsibilities. During construction, the principle of layered and segmented excavation was strictly followed, and the linkage between foundation pit support structure construction and monitoring was strengthened, with emphasis on controlling deformation of the retaining structure, monitoring groundwater levels, and protecting the surrounding environment, ensuring the foundation pit remained stable and controllable at all times.
In response to complex geological conditions, the project department optimized construction techniques and rationally allocated machinery and personnel, achieving simultaneous improvements in excavation efficiency and construction safety. Meanwhile, on-site management personnel supervised operations throughout, providing real-time technical guidance and safety inspections, dynamically adjusting the construction pace, and effectively responding to various emergencies to ensure smooth and orderly progress of foundation pit excavation.
As an important component of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's air-rail intermodal transport hub, the Shenzhen Airport East Station project, once completed, will enable multi-rail transfers among high-speed rail, intercity rail, and metro, building an efficient and convenient comprehensive transportation network. Upon completion, the project will have major strategic significance for strengthening connectivity within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promoting regional coordinated development, and advancing high-quality economic and social development in the western wing of the Pearl River Delta.
