The cultural tourism infrastructure construction project on both banks of the Rongjiang North River at Jieyang Tower Square is progressing steadily as planned, injecting new momentum into the city's development.

At the construction site, large rotary drilling rigs, crawler cranes and other machinery are operating efficiently, while construction workers carry out their tasks in an intense and orderly manner. It is understood that on the south bank, three rotary drilled piles for the approach bridge have been completed, and preliminary work such as the laying of temporary construction roads and the installation of temporary power facilities is fully in place; on the north bank, construction fencing has been installed, and efforts are being fully devoted to tree pruning and relocation, temporary power and water supply, and preparations for rotary drilled pile construction. From tidal flat improvement to infrastructure support, from bridge pile foundations to embankment improvement, the spirit of seizing every minute and the drive to overcome difficulties can be felt at every construction site, giving a boost to the construction of this livelihood project.

It is reported that the project has an estimated total investment of about 324 million yuan and will build a slow-traffic bridge with a total area of about 12,000 square meters, connecting Jieyang Tower Square and Wanda Plaza. The main bridge adopts a through-type steel structure tied-arch design, with an arch span of about 200 meters. A 7-meter-wide sunken lane will be set in the middle for motorcycles and non-motorized vehicles, while 4-to-7-meter-wide pedestrian walkways on both sides will be connected through X-shaped elevated platforms, ensuring safe and convenient passage while creating a distinctive urban landscape landmark. At the same time, the project will also renovate two key intersections, improve embankments, build smart parking lots, and complete supporting infrastructure such as lighting, landscaping, water supply and drainage, making citizens' travel smoother, leisure more enjoyable and life better. "Once this bridge is completed, we will no longer have to take a detour from Jieyang Tower to Wanda Plaza. It will be much more convenient for walking and shopping!" said Mr. Chen, a resident living nearby, who is full of expectations for the project.

The person in charge of on-site construction told reporters that, as a tangible livelihood project, it will not only remove traffic bottlenecks on both banks, but also link up the city's cultural tourism resources, promoting the transformation of both banks of the Rongjiang North River from "facing each other across the river" to "developing around the river," and laying a solid foundation for Jieyang to build a distinctive cultural tourism calling card and enhance its urban capacity. According to him, since construction started on January 30 this year, the project has been advancing at full speed toward its set goals. Next, the project construction party will continue to strictly control safety, quality and progress, and strive to complete this slow-traffic bridge that carries the expectations of citizens as early as possible, so that livelihood benefits can take root and bear fruit on both banks of the Rongjiang River.
