Recently, good news came from the construction site of the Liangqiao Bridge demolition and reconstruction project in Lichuan City: the project's first pile foundation rebar cage was unveiled, marking the official start of the bridge's main structure construction and pressing the "fast-forward button" on the project.

At the construction site, large machinery operated in an orderly manner, and construction personnel worked in strict accordance with standard procedures, implementing safety control and quality standards throughout the entire process. The first pile foundation rebar cage task was completed efficiently, and the construction efficiency was praised by on-site personnel.

The Liangqiao Bridge demolition and reconstruction project in Lichuan is a key livelihood transportation project in Lichuan, located in Yandongsi Community, Dongcheng Subdistrict, connecting Binjiang North Road to the north and Binjiang South Road to the south, with a total investment of approximately 12 million yuan. It is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in mid-August 2026.

The original Liangqiao Bridge was built in 1963 and was rated a Class D dangerous bridge due to service beyond its design life, with safety hazards such as a narrow deck, mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and low traffic efficiency. The new bridge is 64 meters long and 13 meters wide. Once completed, it will completely eliminate the regional traffic bottleneck, improve the overall traffic quality of Liangqiao Road, and create a safe and convenient passage for surrounding residents.

The completion of the first pile foundation lays a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of bridge piers, abutments, and the superstructure. Next, the project contractor will continue to strictly uphold the safety bottom line and strictly control project quality, efficiently advance subsequent processes such as pile foundation construction and bridge erection, and make every effort to ensure the project is completed and put into use on schedule, supporting Lichuan's urban construction and the upgrading of livelihood transportation quality.

It is understood that the main construction difficulties of the project are concentrated in pipeline relocation. The area around the bridge contains urban main networks, water supply pipes, gas pipelines, and national defense optical cables, making relocation relatively difficult. The new bridge adopts a double-column pier foundation and precast small box girder structure, and the sidewalks and railing ancillary facilities adopt a modern design, enhancing traffic width while balancing safety and urban aesthetics.

During the construction period, Liangqiao Road will be fully closed, and passing vehicles and pedestrians will need to detour.
