In January and February this year, China's railways completed fixed asset investment of 72.2 billion yuan, up 5.4% year on year. Railway construction has been advanced with high quality and efficiency, injecting new momentum into regional economic and social development.

A relevant official from the Construction Department of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway) said that since the beginning of this year, China Railway has focused on serving major national strategies and regional economic and social development, given full play to the advantages of the railway construction industrial chain's length and wide reach, made good use of the country's "Two Major" support policies, and accelerated railway construction. During the Spring Festival holiday, more than 570 work sites of 46 key railway projects across the country continued construction, with more than 38,000 construction personnel staying on the front line. For projects suspended during the Spring Festival, efforts after the holiday focused on strengthening the organization of work and production resumption, enhancing safety and quality, ecological and environmental protection, and project investment control, and a number of key projects have made positive progress.

      In Henan, at the construction site of the Qinhe River Grand Bridge, a major and difficult section of the Jiaozuo-Pingdingshan High-Speed Railway built by China Railway 23rd Bureau Group, more than 200 builders are making every effort to advance pile foundation construction for the bridge. The Qinhe River Grand Bridge is 11.99 kilometers long, and its longest pile foundation reaches a depth of 108 meters, making it the longest bridge pile foundation on the entire line.

      In Shandong, the second pre-station section of the Weifang-Suqian High-Speed Railway built by China Railway 14th Bureau Group has fully resumed work after the holiday. Construction of the continuous beam of the Weifang Grand Bridge crossing the Weiqing Expressway, a major and difficult section of the entire line, is progressing steadily, and construction of the bridge's substructure has been completed smoothly. In Hubei, the continuous beam of the Hujiawan Jushui River Grand Bridge crossing the Jushui River, a major and difficult section of the Hefei-Wuhan High-Speed Railway built by China Railway 18th Bureau Group, was successfully closed. The Hujiawan Jushui River Grand Bridge is 13,501 meters long, and its continuous beam crosses the Jushui River and runs parallel to the existing Hefei-Wuhan Railway, involving great construction difficulty and high safety risks.

A relevant official from the Construction Department of China Railway said that next, China Railway will fully implement the key railway project construction tasks set out in the 15th Five-Year Plan, accelerate the building of a world-class modern railway network, improve the overall functions and benefits of the network, give full play to the driving effect of railway construction investment, and provide strong support for serving the all-round expansion of domestic demand and promoting China's high-quality economic and social development.
