Construction at the Huoqiu–Anhui-Henan Border section of the S20 Changfeng–Gushi Expressway is in full swing, with the roar of machinery rising and falling, transport vehicles shuttling back and forth, and workers carrying out their tasks in an intense yet orderly manner as they race toward the established milestone targets.

The section is 56.692 km long, designed for a speed of 120 km/h as a dual-direction four-lane expressway, and is an important densification route in Anhui Province's expressway network plan. Once completed, it will be of great significance for strengthening interconnectivity among Jiangsu, Anhui, and Henan provinces and promoting regional development. At present, the key control project, the Chengxihu Bridge, is progressing smoothly: pile foundations are 97.9% complete, pier columns 94.6% complete, and in-water pile foundations have all been completed, with the team now pushing full speed toward completion of the substructure.

Facing the dual challenges of low temperatures and the approaching Spring Festival, the transport authorities are providing support by coordinating the supply of building materials, strengthening technical guidance, and coordinating with water, electricity, and meteorological departments; at the same time, they are tightening safety supervision, focusing on high-risk links, and implementing anti-freezing and anti-slip measures to ensure construction safety. All participating units are organizing scientifically, increasing investment, strictly controlling quality, and steadily advancing the project, striving to achieve the goal of completing the lake substructure on the west bank before the Spring Festival.

Though the cold wind blows hard, construction does not stop. All builders are staying at their posts, sprinting toward the milestone, and continuing to strive for the early completion of this interprovincial expressway corridor.
