On the afternoon of January 28, with the smooth pouring of the final batch of concrete, construction of all 144 pier bodies of the offshore viaduct of the Zhejiang Communications Group Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway Duplicate Line Ningbo Phase III Project came to a successful conclusion. Like 144 "stabilizing sea pillars" rooted in the East China Sea, this marks the full completion of the project's substructure.

Among the completed pier bodies, the tallest reaches 47.5 meters, equivalent to the height of a 16-story building, making it the tallest approach bridge in Ningbo's sea area.

The Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway Duplicate Line Ningbo Phase III Project has a total length of 26.15 kilometers, starting at the Weihai Interchange (connecting to Phase I of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway Duplicate Line in Ningbo) and ending at the Chaiqiao Interchange of the Liuheng Expressway (connecting to the Liuheng Bridge). As the key starting project on the west side of the project, the offshore viaduct connects the Yongjiang Grand Bridge with the Weihai Interchange of Phase I of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway Duplicate Line.

Liu Xuguang, Director of the Engineering Division of the Zhejiang Communications Group Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway Duplicate Line Ningbo Phase III Project, told reporters that because the viaduct is located in the tidal flat area of Zhenhai District, Ningbo, construction faces multiple challenges of "poor geology, harsh weather, high precision requirements, high risks, and strict environmental protection." "In the history of bridge construction, this is one of the projects with the most complex construction environment."
