On January 27, Yuchai Group's 2026 Global Partner Conference was held on January 24, where Yuchai released the world's firstflywheel range extender technologybrand "Yuchai Flywheel Range Extender System(FRS)".

      The Yuchai Flywheel Range Extender System completely abandons the "engine + independent motor" stacking model commonly adopted in the industry.

Through a rigid coaxial integrated design of the flywheel and the engine crankshaft, it achieves a native physical fusion of the power source and the power generation unit.

This core breakthrough, combined with intelligent coupling control algorithms and multi-scenario adaptive energy management strategies, completes the evolution of the range extender from "separate assembly" to "organic symbiosis".

The system is distilled into three core values:

• Minimalist structure (Simplicity):Highly electromechanically integrated, eliminating redundant connecting components, the system's reliability is improved by orders of magnitude, and the core power unit achieves lifetime maintenance-free operation.

• Ultimate efficiency (High efficiency):The engine's high-efficiency zone and the power generation high-efficiency zone fully overlap; the diesel flywheel range extender system achieves a maximum power generation efficiency exceeding 4.8 kWh/L, with a comprehensive fuel saving rate of up to 50%, and in some scenarios the operating cost is already better than that of pure electric.

• Ultra-stable wealth creation (Productivity):No range anxiety, all-climate adaptability, improved attendance rate, helping users achieve an investment payback period of less than 1 year in typical scenarios such as heavy trucks and mining transport.

    The Yuchai Flywheel Range Extender System has achieved full coverage of commercial vehicles and off-road applications.Its product lineup covers a power range from 15 kW to 600 kWand is applied in nine core fields including long-distance logistics, urban buses, heavy mining, port machinery, and large agricultural equipment, making it the commercial range-extender power system with the widest global application range and the highest market share.

    Yuchai Group also stated that the system currently holds more than 96%of the new energy loader market and occupies an "absolutely leading share" in key fields such as mining wide-body trucks and large harvesting machinery.

      At this conference, Yuchai simultaneously launched a full-series product matrix based on the FRS technology platform, including YCS04, YCK08N, YCK16 and other eight major models, fully adapting to the diversified needs from light buses to heavy mining trucks. These products have been successfully matched with domestic and international commercial and construction machinery brands such as FAW Jiefang, Dongfeng, XCMG, SANY, and Caterpillar.
