A municipal key project with a total investment of 142 million yuan, the G528 national highway Jiangle Gaotang to Changkou section project is stepping up construction and going all out to meet its targets.

As the controlling node of the entire project, the Changkou Bridge involves a total investment of about 20 million yuan, with a total length of 256 meters and a width of 11 meters. It is designed as a 10-span structure with 18 pier columns, and its flood control standard is set for a once-in-a-century event, making it the core hub ensuring smooth traffic along the route. Since construction began in August 2025, the construction unit has seized favorable construction periods, invested sufficient manpower and machinery, and steadily advanced the construction process. The Changkou Bridge broke ground on August 15, 2025; all 22 pile foundations have been completed, and pier columns and cap beams are currently under construction. The main girder erection is expected to be completed in mid-June 2026, with bridge deck paving and crash barrier construction to follow in July. Cumulative investment has currently reached about 51%.

The Jiangle Gaotang to Changkou section of National Highway G528 has a construction length of 5.556 kilometers, covering subgrade and pavement, bridges and culverts, roadside greening, and other works, while also ingeniously incorporating cultural tourism elements such as green wellness and water sports. The project is expected to be fully completed and opened to traffic by the end of December 2026. Once completed, it will significantly improve the infrastructure level and tourism quality of the Changkou scenic area.

The project is an important component of the "Vertical Line 7" among the "Eight Vertical, Eleven Horizontal, and Fifteen Connecting" routes in the Layout Plan for the Ordinary National and Provincial Trunk Highway Network of Fujian Province. After opening to traffic, it will not only improve the province's road network structure and enhance traffic safety along the route, but also smooth tourist travel corridors, activate cultural tourism and green industries along the route, and promote coordinated urban-rural development.
