On January 24, accompanied by the roar of rotary drilling rigs, the first test pile for the station building of the Huizhou South Station project on the Shenzhen-Shanwei Railway, constructed by China Railway Urban Construction, was successfully drilled, marking the official start of the Huizhou South Station building project.

Huizhou South Station, constructed by China Railway Urban Construction, is located in Huiyang District, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, and is a core hub station of the Shenzhen-Shanwei Railway. As a modern medium-sized passenger dedicated railway station building, the station adopts an underground two-story side-platform design, with a total construction area of 54,406 square meters, of which the main body covers 51,830 square meters, including 20,076.5 square meters for the concourse level and 31,753.5 square meters for the platform level, plus 2,576 square meters of ground ancillary facilities. The station is built to a standard of a maximum gathering capacity of 1,200 people and a long-term peak-hour departure volume of 1,606 people. Once completed, the project will efficiently meet regional passenger transport demand and become a key node for Huizhou's integration into the Greater Bay Area transportation network.

It is understood that the Shenzhen-Shanwei Railway is an important component of China's coastal high-speed railway corridor, and together with the Guangzhou-Shanwei and Guangzhou-Zhanjiang railways, it forms the dual coastal high-speed rail corridors of Guangdong Province. The construction of this railway trunk line will not only significantly expand the radiation range of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, but also help Guangdong optimize its economic development spatial layout, accelerate the cross-regional flow of factors such as talent, capital, and industry, and inject strong momentum into achieving coordinated regional development. The completion of Huizhou South Station will further improve the layout of regional railway transportation hubs and promote Huizhou's deep integration into the Shenzhen metropolitan area.
