On January 20, the Henan Provincial Housing and Urban-Rural Development Work Conference was held in Zhengzhou. The conference thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his inspection tour of Henan, his important expositions on urban work, and his important instructions and批示 on housing and urban-rural development work, comprehensively implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Party and the plenary sessions of the 20th Central Committee, earnestly implemented the deployments of a series of meetings of the Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee, summarized the development achievements of 2025 and the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, studied the overall thinking for the "15th Five-Year Plan", and deployed key tasks for 2026. The conference conveyed the instructions of provincial leaders and the spirit of the National Housing and Urban-Rural Development Work Conference. The conference pointed out that 2025 is the final year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and a year for planning the development of the "15th Five-Year Plan". The province's housing and urban-rural development system resolutely implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the work requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, adhered to leading high-quality development with high-quality Party building, focused on stabilizing growth, benefiting the people's livelihood, preventing risks, and promoting transformation, and took new steps in high-quality transformation and development. The Provincial Party Committee's Urban Work Conference was successfully held, clarifying the main theme, main line, and key tasks of the province's urban work for the coming period. Party building was strengthened to lead, and education on thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation was solidly carried out; the centralized rectification of unhealthy tendencies and corruption problems around the people was deepened; and the work of rectifying formalism to reduce the burden on the grassroots was solidly carried out. 3,910 urban renewal projects were implemented with an investment of 295 billion yuan completed; 246,000 old residential communities were renovated; 390 new "pocket parks" were built; 2,618 kilometers of old pipe networks were renewed and upgraded; a new wastewater treatment capacity of 470,000 tons/day was added; and 29,000 new public charging piles (guns) were built, exceeding the province's key livelihood project target. Key reform items in the housing and urban-rural development field, such as the integrated reform of urban water supply and drainage, were actively promoted. The province's construction industry output value reached 1.26 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3%.

The conference summarized the development achievements of Henan Province's housing and urban-rural development cause during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. Over the past five years, the entire system, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and under the strong leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, reformed and innovated, forged ahead, and worked solidly, promoting significant improvement in residents' housing conditions, significant enhancement in urban functions and quality, continuous consolidation of the construction industry's pillar position, and constant stimulation of the driving force for high-quality development. The goals and tasks of the "14th Five-Year Plan" were fully completed, and the housing and urban-rural development cause reached a new level.

The conference studied the overall thinking for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period and deployed key tasks for 2026.
