Recently, Liu Wei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Transport, chaired a symposium with experts and scholars, entrepreneurs, and association representatives.

      The meeting emphasized, first, the need to fully understand the phase-specific characteristics of transport development during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, focus on improving the modern comprehensive transport system, accelerate the building of a national comprehensive three-dimensional transport network, strive to advance integrated convergence, safety enhancement, digital and intelligent upgrading, and green transformation, and achieve major breakthroughs in key tasks that bear on the overall effort to build a transport powerhouse.

      Second, the need to promote the construction of major corridors across regions and river basins, advance the renewal and digital-intelligent upgrading of transport infrastructure, improve the comprehensive transport system of modern metropolitan areas, strengthen the development of comprehensive transport hub cities, deepen efforts to reduce costs and improve quality and efficiency in transport and logistics, foster and develop new quality productive forces in the transport sector, comprehensively deepen reform and opening up, and continue to ensure transport safety and stability.
