The waterway section from Huangxiang River to the Huai River sea-entrance channel along the Lianshen Line is a shared segment of the "one vertical" Lianshen Line corridor and the "one horizontal" Huai River sea-outlet corridor in Jiangsu Province's trunk waterway network. It connects the coastal areas of northern Jiangsu and is also a key navigation section for the upper and middle reaches of the Huai River to access the sea via ports.

      The Lianshen Line Section 3 waterway project has a total route length of about 5 kilometers and a total revetment length of about 10 kilometers, with construction focused on concrete sheet piles, PHC pipe piles, and steel sheet piles. According to plan, the project will be completed in June 2027, at which point it will be navigable by 2,000-tonne vessels. Since construction began in the third quarter of this year, the project department has deployed resources scientifically and worked against a schedule, rapidly creating a vigorous construction momentum.
