The main channel cross-sea section of the Dalian New Airport project is being fully advanced. The pile foundation work in the sea area has reached 95% completion and is expected to be fully finished by the end of the year, marking a shift in construction focus to the bridge substructure.

The project involves building a new cross-sea bridge connecting the mainland to the airport island, constructed to Class I highway standards. The main line is 2.85 kilometers long with eight lanes in both directions and a design speed of 80 km/h. The main bridge is an 800-meter-long half-through five-span arch bridge.

On December 11, more than 400 construction workers worked in 24-hour shifts, overcoming severe cold weather to carry out pile foundation, pile cap, and pier column construction. They also used a self-developed "connecting rod" to address karst cave challenges, improving construction efficiency and safety. The existing 44 pier columns have been coated with a silane impregnation anti-corrosion layer to adapt to the marine environment. The project is scheduled to open to traffic in 2027. As a key supporting project of Dalian Jinzhou Bay International Airport, it will improve the collection and distribution system and promote the development of the regional transportation hub and the city's coordinated progress. By the end of next year, water, electricity, heating, and gas will be transmitted to the artificial island via the bridge platform.
