Recently, the foundation pit in Zone 3 of Qingpu Xincheng Station, Section 1 of the Shanghai Demonstration Area Line, was successfully capped, marking the completion of all Phase I construction of the station's foundation pit works.

      The main foundation pit of Qingpu Xincheng Station is about 511.2 meters long and is divided from north to south into five construction zones. Among them, the foundation pits in Zones 1, 3, and 5 are Phase I construction, while those in Zones 2 and 4 are Phase II construction. The Zone 3 foundation pit capped this time is located in the standard section of the central structure of the main foundation pit, about 118 meters long and about 51.6 meters wide.

       During construction, there were many challenges such as complex geological conditions, strict environmental protection requirements, great difficulty in controlling confined-water dewatering, and limited space for semi-covered excavation construction.

       In the face of these construction difficulties, the project team adjusted the allocation of production resources in a timely manner according to the boundary conditions at different construction stages and carefully optimized the construction organization plan. The team adhered to technological innovation and actively applied precast concrete support technology, intelligent servo support systems, BIM construction management technology, and automatic monitoring technology for deep foundation pit construction, among others, providing solid technical support throughout the full life cycle of deep foundation pit construction.
