As of mid-November, the Upper Marsyangdi A Hydropower Station, Nepal's first hydropower station invested in by a Chinese enterprise, has generated more than 300 million kWh of electricity this year.

Since the operation and maintenance team of the 10th Hydropower Engineering Bureau officially took over the operation and maintenance management of the Upper Marsyangdi A Hydropower Station in Nepal in January 2025, the station has consistently maintained safe, stable and efficient operation. Faced with favorable conditions such as abundant inflow during this year's flood season, the operation and maintenance personnel carried out scientific dispatch, accurately assessed water conditions, and worked closely with grid dispatch departments to maximize the use of hydropower resources. Maintenance personnel made advance arrangements, strengthened coordinated operation and maintenance, and intensified inspection and maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure that the units remained in optimal operating condition, laying a solid foundation for the annual power generation target. Calculated on the basis of an ordinary household's annual electricity consumption of 200 kWh, the 300 million kWh generated by the project can meet the electricity demand of 1.5 million households for a full year, effectively safeguarding grid stability and providing reliable power support for local industrial production, commercial activities and residents' daily life. It has played a positive role in alleviating local power shortages and promoting local economic development.

With a total installed capacity of 50 MW, the Upper Marsyangdi A Hydropower Station is a key project through which Power Construction Corporation of China actively advances integrated development across the entire industrial chain under the guidance of the Belt and Road Initiative. Construction broke ground in January 2013, and the station officially entered commercial operation on January 1, 2017. Like a powerful engine, it continuously injects strong momentum into Nepal's development. Since entering operation, the station has maintained efficient and stable operation, with annual operating hours exceeding 8,000 and a stable supply of more than 360 million kWh of clean energy each year to important areas such as Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, and Pokhara, the country's leading tourist city. This has greatly alleviated Nepal's long-standing power shortage and made the station a solid energy backbone for Nepal's economic and social development.
