On September 24, the kick-off meeting for the establishment of the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) Tunneling Machine AI Large Model Consortium was held at CRCC Heavy Industry. Expert representatives from outstanding enterprises and universities in the fields of design, construction, and equipment manufacturing attended, including the CRCC High-end Equipment Industry Technology Research Institute, China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute, China Railway 18th Bureau Group, Hunan University, and Tianjin University. Luo Jianli, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of CRCC Heavy Industry, and Han Jialin, Deputy General Manager, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

This meeting is a major measure by CRCC to fully implement the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council's deployment of the "AI+" special action for central enterprises and to promote the implementation of special applications for the construction of strategic high-value tunnel scenarios. The AI large model consortium aims to use tunnel boring machines as a link to unite leading enterprises and university research institutes in tunnel design and construction, and, relying on CRCC's domestically produced AI training computing power, to develop a tunneling machine AI large model and achieve complementary multi-dimensional data and scenarios in underground engineering construction.

At the meeting, CRCC Heavy Industry presented AI large model achievements including three core intelligent agents: intelligent design optimization, intelligent construction management and control, and intelligent equipment manufacturing and operation and maintenance. Hunan University delivered a special technical report titled "Shield Tunneling Construction Big Data: Evaluation, Mining and Application." Participating representatives held in-depth exchanges on core topics such as the consortium establishment plan, the consortium data-sharing mechanism, technical standards for the AI large model, and the implementation of application scenarios.

The meeting noted that establishing the "CRCC Tunneling Machine AI Large Model Consortium" is a major decision and deployment by CRCC to implement the national strategy and promote the upgrade of Chinese construction toward Chinese intelligent manufacturing. The consortium will uphold the development philosophy of "open collaboration, joint innovation, and win-win ecosystem," open technology empowerment interfaces to the industry, extend customized solution design and high-end consulting service capabilities, and continuously promote the intelligent transformation and upgrading of the underground engineering construction and equipment manufacturing industries.
