On September 9, the water conveyance system of the Nanning Pumped Storage Power Station—Guangxi's first pumped storage power station, built by Sinohydro Bureau 7 Co., Ltd.—completed its water-filling test. All project indicators were good, and the water-filling test was successfully completed in a single attempt, laying a solid foundation for the station's formal commissioning.

The Nanning Pumped Storage Power Station is a major energy project under China's 14th Five-Year Plan. Construction of the main works began in July 2022, with a total capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts; once completed, it will be able to absorb up to 2.5 billion kilowatt-hours of clean energy per year. The water conveyance system has a total length of 1,808.608 meters and consists of two stages of vertical shafts. This water filling of the water conveyance tunnel adopted pump-mode filling. After "four-stage filling and three-stage pressure stabilization," the tunnel showed no abnormal deformation under a 510-meter head pressure, with a cumulative filling volume of approximately 95,000 cubic meters. During filling and pressure stabilization, the lining structure of the water conveyance system remained stable, the construction adit plugs were well sealed, all drainage facilities operated stably, and all monitoring data met design requirements.

The project department will steadily advance follow-up work according to the established plan to ensure full commissioning at an early date, so as to play an important role in regional energy supply and power stability.
