In the earlier stage, Sinohydro Foundation Engineering, together with Guangxi Water Development Group, optimized the design of the YD2000-model "Huanbei Guangxi No. 4" pipe jacking machine for jacking operations in 4 tunnels with a total length of 2,137 meters. It combines strong crushing capability with a slurry balance function, can excavate into rock, and can effectively carry out efficient operations under complex geological conditions such as the Hesun No. 1 and No. 2 Tunnels, the Wentoulu Tunnel, and the Foziling Tunnel, shortening the construction period.

The Huanbei Gulf Guangxi Water Resources Allocation Project is one of the 150 major water conservancy projects implemented by the State Council, a backbone project of the national water network, and a supporting project of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. As the second pipe jacking machine rolled out for the entire Huanbei Guangxi Project, the practical application of "Huanbei Guangxi No. 4" will bring a demonstration effect to construction applications in other sections.
