On August 30, the Hunan Chenxi Pumped Storage Power Station reached a major milestone—the closure acceptance for the lower reservoir project was successfully passed, making it the provincial key project among pumped storage projects under construction in Hunan to achieve river closure the fastest. This marks that this "super power bank" has entered a new stage of main works construction and is accelerating from blueprint to reality.

The closure acceptance committee was composed of relevant units including the Hunan Provincial Energy Administration, the Huaihua Municipal Water Resources Bureau, and the Municipal Reservoir Area Resettlement Affairs Center. Through on-site inspection, document review, and briefings, the committee determined that the Chenxi Pumped Storage Power Station has met the conditions for closure of the lower reservoir project.
