According to China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), on August 10, good news came again from the construction of the "national calling card" Hualong One: concrete pouring for the nuclear island of Unit 1 of CNNC's Zhejiang Jinqimen Nuclear Power Project has started.

      Jinqimen Nuclear Power Project is located in Xiangshan County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is invested in and controlled by China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., a listed company of CNNC. It is an innovative exploration by Jinqimen Nuclear Power Project in creating a new model of central-local cooperation and promoting common prosperity, and also a concrete action to build a new benchmark for nuclear power projects in the new era with high quality and high standards. The project plans to build six million-kilowatt-class pressurized water reactor nuclear power units, with a total investment of approximately 120 billion yuan. Among them, Units 1 and 2 were approved at the executive meeting of the State Council on December 29, 2023, and adopt the third-generation Hualong One reactor type with China's complete independent intellectual property rights. The rated capacity of a single unit is 1.2 million kilowatts, and the designed operating life is 60 years. After all are completed, the installed capacity will be approximately 7.2 million kilowatts, and the expected annual power generation will reach 55 billion kWh, equivalent to half of Ningbo's total electricity consumption in 2024. It is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 45 million tons, equivalent to the area of about 65 Dongqian Lake scenic areas in Ningbo being afforested.

      Zhongyan Dadi and the units related to the Jinqimen project have reached consensus in areas such as consulting, project implementation, research and development, and application of core technologies, and have successively signed multiple contracts. At present, the project is proceeding according to the established plan. In addition to cooperation on orders, in March 2025, Zhongyan Dadi signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Nuclear Industry 22nd Construction Co., Ltd. In June 2025, Zhongyan Dadi was awarded the qualification of qualified supplier of CNNC, obtaining certification to provide geotechnical engineering services to CNNC and its subordinate units, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation in the field of nuclear power engineering. Zhongyan Dadi closely follows the bidding dynamics of the Jinqimen project and actively participates in bidding work in the field of geotechnical engineering.
