Since its inaugural session in 1993, the Pile Foundation Engineering Academic Conference (formerly the National Pile Foundation Engineering Academic Conference) has gone through fifteen sessions of accumulation and has become a core platform in China's pile foundation engineering field that integrates academic exchange, literature mutual learning, and resource sharing, powerfully driving industry technological innovation and industrial upgrading.

As an important academic event in the geotechnical engineering field in 2025, the 16th Pile Foundation Engineering Academic Conference is scheduled to be held in Shenzhen from November 24 to 26, 2025. The conference is jointly hosted by the Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society, the Foundation Engineering Professional Committee of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization, and the State Key Laboratory of Building Safety and Environment, and jointly organized by Shenzhen Survey and Mapping Institute (Group) Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Gongkan Geotechnical Group Co., Ltd., Shenzhen University, Dongguan Institute of Building Science Co., Ltd., Beijing Jinshan Foundation Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd., and other units, aiming to build a high-end academic exchange and technological innovation platform in the pile foundation engineering field.

On the morning of July 9, the third preparatory meeting of the 16th Pile Foundation Engineering Academic Conference was held at Shenzhen Shenkan Building. National Engineering Survey Master Qiu Jianjin, Wang Tao, Deputy General Manager of the Foundation Institute of the China Academy of Building Research, Sun Jinshan, General Manager of Beijing Jinshan Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd., and other industry experts and scholars gathered together to conduct in-depth discussions on key matters such as the conference's offline venue selection, agenda setting, and organizational structure, building consensus and clarifying the path for the conference preparation.

The meeting clarified the core positioning of this session: based on the new stage of industry development, with the theme of "Technological Innovation Leading Industrial Upgrading, Collaborative Cooperation Promoting Industry Prosperity," to create a high-end platform integrating academic exchange, technology display, and business matchmaking, and to help the high-quality development of the pile foundation industry.

Regarding venue selection, the participants preliminarily screened candidate areas that meet requirements such as scale suitability, complete supporting facilities, and convenient transportation, and plan to form a special inspection team after the meeting to conduct on-site research on venue details, surrounding facilities, and traffic conditions, providing a scientific basis for the final venue selection.

In terms of agenda planning, the meeting determined four core segments: the keynote report plans to invite industry authorities to interpret policy orientations and technological frontiers; the thematic forums will focus on hot fields such as intelligentization of pile foundation engineering, green construction, and lightweight equipment; the technology salon will build an interactive bridge between small and medium-sized enterprises and research institutions to accelerate the transformation of technological achievements; and the equipment exhibition will concentrate on displaying industry innovation achievements. At the same time, all parties exchanged in-depth views on details such as the scope of guest invitations, media publicity strategies, and sponsor cooperation models, and clarified the priorities and time nodes for the next stage of preparation.

The convening of this preparatory meeting further consolidated industry consensus and laid a solid foundation for the systematic advancement of the 16th Pile Foundation Engineering Academic Conference. As various tasks proceed in an orderly manner, this grand event, which combines professional depth and industry influence, is already highly anticipated.

Next, the preparatory working group will, according to the direction determined at this meeting, formulate a detailed task list, clarify the division of labor among units, and accelerate key work such as venue inspection and guest invitations; through a combination of online and offline methods, it will widely solicit industry opinions to ensure that the conference precisely meets market needs and becomes a "strong engine" driving industry innovation and development. In addition, the preparatory group will establish an efficient communication and coordination mechanism, regularly hold progress meetings to track progress and solve problems, ensure that all links are implemented effectively, and welcome the convening of the 16th Pile Foundation Engineering Academic Conference with high quality and high standards.
