On the afternoon of July 3, Unit 2 of the Batang Hydropower Station on the upper Jinsha River, designed and constructed by the company, completed its trial operation and was connected to the grid for power generation. During the trial operation, the unit operated smoothly, and the successful commissioning of Unit 2 marks another key step toward achieving the goal of full commercial operation of the Batang Hydropower Station.

The Batang Hydropower Station is located on the border river between Sichuan Province and the Tibet Autonomous Region on the upper Jinsha River, and is an important supporting power source for the clean energy base on the upper Jinsha River. The station has an installed capacity of 750 MW (3 units × 250 MW). When operated in conjunction with the upstream cascade hydropower stations, its multi-year average annual power generation is 3.375 billion kWh. After full-capacity commissioning, it can save 1.05 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 3.15 million tons each year, which is of great significance for promoting local economic and social development and advancing China's green and low-carbon energy transition.

During the trial operation of Unit 2, the last unit of the Batang Hydropower Station (Unit 1) simultaneously carried out a series of grid-related tests, including main transformer impulse energization and synchronous grid connection. After the tests are completed, the 72-hour trial operation will be carried out at an appropriate time according to grid conditions. The project team will always carry forward the corporate spirit of "daring to take responsibility and brave to surpass" and make every effort to provide technical support for the commissioning of the last unit, ensuring that the station achieves full commercial operation as soon as possible.
