The Foundation has long been committed to cultivating young talent. Driven by major national strategic needs, multidisciplinary convergence and cross-technology integration have become the norm. Winners of the Beijing Youth Science and Technology Award cover the fields of science, engineering, agriculture, and medicine. Since the award was established, a total of 417 outstanding young science and technology talents have been recognized, of whom 24 have subsequently been elected academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The Mao Yisheng Youth Science and Technology Academic Forum aims to carry forward Mr. Mao's lofty spirit of "patriotism, science, striving, and dedication" and to inherit his scientist spirit of forging ahead and daring to innovate. The Foundation will unite the strength of Beijing Youth Science and Technology Award winners and, in an era where scientific and technological innovation is increasingly moving toward greater integration, build the "Mao Yisheng Youth Science and Technology Academic Forum" into a platform for exchange that provides young science and technology workers with multidisciplinary crossover, multi-field integration, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Holding the First Mao Yisheng Youth Science and Technology Academic Forum is not only a inheritance and promotion of Mr. Mao Yisheng's scientist spirit, but also a contribution of wisdom and strength to actively promoting the construction of Beijing's high-quality, high-level talent highland, closely centering on national development policies.
