Recently, China's largest single-unit fishery-solar hybrid project, the first phase of the Jiangsu Lianyungang Dongshang project, achieved full-capacity grid connection and power generation. The project, built by PowerChina Chengdu Engineering Corporation under an EPC general contract, is located in Dunshang Town, Ganyu District, Lianyungang City, spanning 16 administrative villages and covering 464 aquaculture ponds, with a total installed capacity of 360 MW.
As a benchmark project of its kind nationwide, the project implements a three-dimensional development model of "aquatic photovoltaic matrix + underwater ecological aquaculture," scientifically deploying 138 standardized photovoltaic power generation units across 10,000 mu of tidal flats to form a composite industrial system that enables "power generation above and aquaculture below." It is expected to boost surrounding fishery income by more than 20 million yuan annually, adding vitality to the local economy. By scientifically allocating resources and dynamically optimizing construction plans, the construction team simultaneously deployed 8 hydraulic piling rigs during peak periods and organized more than 600 builders to work in coordination, successfully overcoming challenges such as complex tidal-flat geology and short construction windows, and delivering high-quality performance to achieve the power generation goal.
During construction, more than 200 local villagers were hired and, through skills training, transformed into photovoltaic industry workers, significantly increasing their average monthly income. During the operation period, surrounding villagers will be given priority for technical positions such as photovoltaic panel cleaning and aquaculture, achieving an organic integration of clean energy development and rural industrial revitalization, and building a long-term assistance system through an industry feedback mechanism. After commissioning, the project will generate an average annual power output of 1.552 billion kWh, equivalent to saving 469,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.278 million tons annually, promoting the optimization of the energy structure in East China and providing an innovative demonstration for the ecological development of coastal tidal flats.
