Introduction
On May 29, the field acceptance review meeting for the final survey and detailed geotechnical investigation of the advance construction section of the National Highway Changchang Line (Dalian Changhai Bridge Project) was held in Dalian. Representatives of the project owner and other relevant units, along with renowned industry experts, were invited to attend the meeting. The expert panel and representatives of relevant units listened to reports on the survey and measurement work of the project's advance construction section, carefully reviewed the field data from the final survey and detailed investigation, held thorough discussions on the survey and measurement results, and reached a consensus. The meeting fully affirmed the acceptance materials submitted by the company, holding that the procedures for the final survey and detailed investigation complied with regulations, the technical approach was reasonable, and the quality, safety, and environmental protection measures were appropriate, meeting the requirements of industry standards and the work outline. The meeting unanimously agreed to pass the field acceptance. The Dalian Changhai Bridge Project is the sea-crossing link of National Highway G507 Changchang Line. It starts at Dachangshan Island in Changhai County, Dalian, and ends at Pikou Subdistrict in Pulandian District. It adopts the technical standard of a two-way, four-lane Class I highway with a design speed of 80 km/h. The route is approximately 25.5 km long, including an 18.995 km sea-crossing bridge. It is the largest land-island highway project under construction in China and the longest sea-crossing bridge in Northeast China, featuring great water depth (up to 43 m), long tidal flats (up to 4 km), and difficult coordination (extensive mariculture areas and dense underground pipelines). The field work for the final survey and detailed investigation began in February this year. Located on the coast of the Yellow Sea at a high latitude, the area has low winter temperatures, strong winds, and heavy snow, resulting in harsh construction conditions; the operating waters have deep water and high waves, making transportation time-consuming, laborious, and dangerous. The project team comprehensively addressed various adverse factors, took the initiative, and fulfilled its duties diligently, completing the field work for the final survey and detailed investigation in just three and a half months. The project's quality and safety management achieved remarkable results, and its contract performance quality and efficiency were highly recognized by the owner, competent authorities, and industry experts. The passing of the field acceptance for the final survey and detailed investigation of the project's advance construction section marks a new stage in the survey and design work of the Dalian Changhai Bridge Project. The project team will earnestly implement the experts' opinions, steadily advance subsequent work, and create favorable conditions for welcoming the project'sconstruction drawing review.
