Rental Rate Index 

In April 2025, the rental rate index for aerial work platforms was 673 points, up 8.2% month-on-month and basically flat year-on-year. Overall, in April all machine types showed month-on-month growth in their rental rate indices, among which the 14–16m models had the largest month-on-month increase at 24.8%, while the 36–39m models had the smallest increase at less than 1%. In April 2025, the year-on-year rental rate indices of most machine types rose rather than fell; apart from the 26–28m and 36–39m models, whose rental rate indices declined year-on-year, all other machine types showed growth. The 14–16m models had the largest increase at 11.9%, while the 36–39m models had the largest year-on-year decline at 19.1% (the rental rate is calculated on the basis of machine-days, with 100% rental rate corresponding to 1000 points).

 Rental Price Index 

According to statistics calculated from reported data, in April 2025 the rental price index for aerial work platforms fell slightly by 1.6% month-on-month. Apart from the ≤6m and 36–39m models, which were basically flat month-on-month, all other machine types saw very small month-on-month declines in their rental price indices. The 8–12m models had the largest month-on-month decline at 3.5%, while the 30–35m models had the smallest at 1.2%. In April 2025, the rental price index for aerial work platforms fell 20.5% year-on-year, with the year-on-year rental price indices of all machine types in decline. The ≤6m models had the smallest year-on-year decline at 13.0%, while the 20–24m and above-40m models had the largest declines, both exceeding 22.0%.    

Since July 2022, when the Construction Machinery Leasing Branch began compiling statistics for the aerial work platform leasing prosperity index, it has continuously optimized the statistical calculation methods. It will further improve the statistical indicators and methods in the future, in order to reflect market conditions more scientifically and accurately for the reference of industry enterprises.
