Recently, the No. 2 road of the Basnagoda Reservoir Project in Sri Lanka, in which Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co., Ltd. participated as a construction party, was completed on schedule.

"During construction, we adopted a phased alternating work mode and installed reflective guide signs to ensure project progress while fully safeguarding the daily travel safety of local residents." It is reported that the bureau's project team adopted refined construction techniques and equipped professional machinery to ensure road surface stability; in response to the local tropical rainforest climate, they optimized the drainage design, significantly improving drainage capacity during the rainy season and consolidating the foundation of road quality from the source. Testing showed that the road compaction degree fully met standards, and all technical indicators complied with specification requirements, demonstrating high-standard engineering quality.

"Before, it took 40 minutes to wind along the mountain road; now it takes just 10 minutes by car to reach the village entrance!" Speaking of the changes brought by the new road, nearby residents could hardly hide their joy and praised this convenience road. As an important livelihood support project, the No. 2 road has cut travel time on the original mountain detour by 75%, benefiting about 200 households in five surrounding villages. It has not only opened a convenient "livelihood passage" for local people but also enhanced residents' sense of happiness in daily life through concrete action.

The Basnagoda Reservoir Project is an important livelihood project under China-Sri Lanka cooperation. It covers reservoir construction, road upgrades, and other supporting facilities, aiming to improve local residents' living conditions through infrastructure upgrades and boost regional economic development.
