Recently, the large-enclosure cut-off wall construction of the Huai'an Hub Project of the Phase II Huai River Seaward Channel Project, undertaken by Sinohydro Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully completed. Five Shanghai Jintai SG series grabs were deployed across the full matrix, building a solid foundation for this project hailed as Asia's largest water overpass.

The underground cut-off wall project at the Huai'an Hub section has a total axis length of 1,759.2 meters, with the deepest trench panel at 59 meters, an average depth of 55 meters, and a trenching area of 95,560 square meters. Its innovative three-dimensional structure featuring "trenches above and culverts below" ranks as the foremost among the world's water overpass projects.

The project team of Sinohydro Foundation Engineering integrated new technologies such as digital twins, intelligent slurry preparation, and trenching construction visualization into the intelligent construction system, achieving a perfect completion that is both efficient and safe, with visualization of the construction process, intelligent slurry circulation, and zero discharge of waste slurry. The verticality control of trench monitoring was kept within 1‰, reaching the international advanced level under equivalent geological conditions.

The Phase II Huai River Seaward Channel Project is one of the 172 major water conservancy projects uniformly deployed by the State Council and a key control section of the Huai River Basin flood control system, with a total investment of 1.7 billion yuan. Once completed, the project will further increase the flood discharge capacity of the Huai River Seaward Channel, effectively improve drainage conditions in northern Huai'an, protect the flood control safety of more than 20 million people and over 30 million mu of farmland in Hongze Lake and downstream areas, and safeguard the high-quality economic and social development of the Huai River Basin.
