On May 15, the launch event for the world's first deployment of 100 units of the unmanned electric mining truck "Huaneng Ruichi" — Huaneng Ruichi, Galloping Across the World — was successfully held in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia. Yang Dongsheng, Chairman and Party Secretary of XCMG Group and XCMG Machinery, attended the event upon invitation. XCMG's 100 units of ZNK95 pure-electric unmanned mining trucks were successfully delivered to Huaneng Yimin Open-Pit Coal Mine and officially put into fleet operation.

Innovative Collaboration Bears Fruit

The "Huaneng Ruichi Unmanned Electric Mining Truck" project, as the world's first complete set of intelligent battery-swapping, unmanned mining truck fleet operation equipment and system, integrates core technologies such as unmanned driving, 5G communication, intelligent battery swapping, and intelligent safety control. It uses photovoltaic green power to achieve zero-carbon operation in the transportation segment. According to the appraisal by an expert panel, the overall technology of the project has reached the internationally leading level.

"This cross-industry ecological integration innovation can be described as a victorious convergence of an energy revolution, a technology revolution, an equipment revolution, and a business revolution," said Yang Dongsheng. He stated that XCMG, by joining hands with industry leaders to jointly discuss and build, and to work together in the same direction, has provided the best Chinese practice for global green and intelligent mine construction. XCMG will join hands with partners to start from pure-electric unmanned mining trucks and gradually extend to the full range of equipment including unmanned excavators, unmanned drilling rigs, and loaders, creating a full-scenario zero-carbon unmanned mine solution.

Global Attention: Unlocking the Code of Intelligence

Promoting the transformation and upgrading of mine transportation equipment and jointly building "safe, efficient, green, and zero-carbon" smart mines is a common mandatory question for the industry. XCMG's fleet operation of 100 units of truly unmanned pure-electric mining trucks has achieved continuous three-shift routine operation of the pure-electric drive system at -40°C, fully automatic battery swapping within 6 minutes, and operating efficiency reaching 120% of manned driving.

Li Shuxue, Party Secretary and Chairman of Huaneng Inner Mongolia Eastern Energy Co., Ltd., stated that this independently developed fully domestic overall zero-carbon and intelligent solution for the mine transportation segment realizes AI empowerment of the traditional mining industry, plays an important role in promoting the intrinsic safety of mines, and is another successful model of vigorously developing new quality productive forces and promoting the digital transformation of traditional industries. It is of great strategic significance for overcoming the difficulty of relying on imports for key components of large mining equipment and for advancing the high-quality development of the industry.

At the event site, Yang Dongsheng, together with ten leaders and guests including government representatives, association representatives, and member units of the innovation consortium, jointly pressed the "start button" — marking the official commissioning of the world's first 100 units of unmanned electric mining trucks, "Huaneng Ruichi."

It is reported that 100 units of "Huaneng Ruichi" can replace more than 15,000 tons of diesel per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 48,000 tons, demonstrating significant advantages in green and low-carbon operation.
