Erwangzhuang Reservoir is located in Baodi District, Tianjin. It is a medium-sized plain reservoir on the middle section of the Luan River diversion route and the closest to Tianjin's urban area. It serves as an important hub for dual-source water conveyance from both the Luan River and the Yangtze River, and is normally used as Tianjin's online regulation and emergency reserve reservoir, with a water supply scope covering the entire municipality except Jizhou District. To safeguard the safety of urban and rural domestic and industrial water supply, strengthen dual-use peacetime and emergency construction, guarantee economic and social development during extraordinary periods, improve the ability of Tianjin's water supply system to withstand the impact of floods and waterlogging disasters, and at the same time create conditions for the even water supply of the South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route in the long term, its importance is self-evident. The implementation of the Erwangzhuang Reservoir capacity expansion project is therefore very necessary and urgent.
The construction period of this capacity expansion project is 26 months. The water level will rise from the original 5.50 meters to 9.35 meters, and the total reservoir capacity will increase from the original 45.3 million cubic meters to 95.25 million cubic meters, greatly enhancing Tianjin's water supply guarantee capacity.

For the Erwangzhuang Reservoir Capacity Expansion Project (Sections 1-5) in which it participates, the total length of the reservoir dam is about 14.2 kilometers, and the total required TRD cutoff wall construction volume is about 365,000 cubic meters, with a wall thickness of 600 mm and a wall depth of 40 m to 50 m. The engineering volume is enormous.
