Brand Month Campaign
On May 10, 2014, General Secretary Xi Jinping issued the important instruction to "promote the transformation from Made in China to Created in China, from Chinese speed to Chinese quality, and from Chinese products to Chinese brands." On April 24, 2017, the State Council approved designating May 10 of each year as "China Brand Day." After years of development, the China Brand Day series of events has become a national-level grand gathering that builds social consensus on brand development, promotes brand building, and strengthens brand exchanges, as well as an important window for the world to understand and become familiar with Chinese brands and to recognize and share in Chinese brands. Taking this "China Brand Day" as an opportunity and with the theme of "The Wise Create Things," CABR launched a series of brand month publicity activities to comprehensively showcase the brand image of a central state-owned enterprise as a national team in the construction field and a science and technology leader in the industry.

This issue showcases brand building achievements at different levels and of different types, aiming to consolidate the synergy of brand development through benchmark demonstrations and experience sharing.
Company Overview Jianyan Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jianyan Foundation") was established in 2002. It is a high-tech enterprise restructured from the Institute of Foundation Engineering of the China Academy of Building Research (hereinafter referred to as "CABR Foundation Institute") as the main entity. Facing the geotechnical engineering field of national construction undertakings, it conducts common, fundamental, and public-benefit technical research required by the industry, and is committed to solving key technical problems in the field of foundation engineering. Jianyan Foundation is the chair unit and secretariat unit of the Standardization Technical Committee for Building Foundations of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and is the supporting organization of social groups such as the Foundation Engineering Branch of the Architectural Society of China and the Foundation Engineering Committee of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization. It is responsible for the compilation and management of China's major foundation engineering technical standards and specifications. Centering on the brand strategic positioning of "becoming an industry-leading enterprise with sustained innovation capability," it coordinates and advances all aspects of brand building, actively creates brands with lasting vitality, broad influence, and high added value, and shapes the brand image of a responsible central state-owned enterprise. Achievements Scientific Research and Standards Achievements Build a Benchmark for the Industry Over the nearly 70 years since the establishment of the CABR Foundation Institute, it has achieved systematic, high-level research results in areas such as the engineering properties of soil and their testing techniques, ground treatment, pile foundations, box-raft foundations for high-rise buildings, and deep foundation pit support. It has successively won 5 National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 5 National Science Conference Awards, 2 National Invention Awards, 2 China Patent Excellence Awards, 2 National Engineering Construction Standard Quota Excellent Standard Awards, 60 provincial and ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards, and 5 Standard Science and Technology Innovation Awards of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization; it has led the compilation of 56 standards and specifications; it has 124 authorized patents (within the validity period) and 21 software copyrights; and it has 2 national-level construction methods and 1 Beijing municipal construction method. Three Major Business Segments Build a Full-Process Service Ecosystem Over more than 20 years since its establishment, Jianyan Foundation has carried forward the fine tradition of the CABR Foundation Institute of nearly 70 years, continuously tackled key technical challenges, and led the industry's technological progress. Facing engineering needs and based on technological innovation, it leverages the advantages of a strong expert team and a mature scientific research mechanism to provide customers with professional services. It has three business segments: the Science and Technology and Strategic Development Research Center, the Engineering Survey and Mapping Institute, and the Engineering Company. Its main businesses include engineering survey, engineering measurement and mapping, foundation design and construction, geological disaster assessment, survey, design, and construction of treatment works, reinforcement and renovation of existing buildings, municipal construction engineering, R&D and application of new foundation technologies and new products, technical consulting, technical services, and foundation testing. The projects it has undertaken span industries such as construction, transportation, municipal engineering, industry, electric power, and energy, and it has won nearly 100 survey, design, and engineering awards. Characteristic Technological Innovation Supports the Company's High-Quality Development In the new era and on a new journey, Jianyan Foundation further gives play to its principal role in enterprise scientific and technological innovation, adapts to the future development trends of the construction industry, firmly seizes strategic opportunities such as the "dual carbon" goals, Digital China, and coordinated regional development, and, relying on platforms such as the State Key Laboratory of Building Safety and Environment and the National Engineering Research Center of Building Technology, carries out applied research oriented toward industry hotspots such as urban renewal, resilient cities, beautiful countryside, digital transformation, and building industrialization. It has achieved a number of scientific research results with excellent economic and social benefits in fields such as anti-floating of underground structures, reinforcement and inclination correction of existing buildings, underground space expansion of existing buildings, foundation pit support, and intelligent monitoring. Jianyan Foundation will take "leading the development of the building foundation industry and promoting technological progress in the geotechnical engineering field" as its brand mission, take becoming "a leader in green and sustainable development of geotechnical engineering" as its brand vision, uphold the core values of "advancing with the times, pursuing excellence, realizing oneself, and scientific development," and continuously become more specialized, refined, stronger, and larger, making greater contributions to the company's high-quality development and creating greater value for society.
