On May 6, good news came from Section 7 of the Chuxiong lot of the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project, constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 1 Co., Ltd. — the Luzhi River Tunnel, the "key route" of the Chuxiong lot of the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project, was successfully holed through. With this, all tunnels in Section 7 of the Chuxiong lot of the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project have been completed and connected, marking a major breakthrough in the construction of the Chuxiong lot of the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project.

The Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project is currently the largest water diversion project under construction in China in terms of investment scale and the most difficult to build. It is a landmark project among the 172 major water conservation and water supply projects designated by the State Council, and is also Yunnan's No. 1 water diversion project. Section 7 of the Chuxiong lot of the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project has a total length of 16.789 kilometers, with most of the section consisting of tunnel construction, making it one of the most difficult sections to build within the Chuxiong lot.

As the only subsidiary of Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) undertaking construction of the Chuxiong lot of the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project, Sinohydro Bureau 1 Co., Ltd. has continuously carried forward the spirit of the "iron army of Bureau 1" since commencement, concentrated superior resources, and adhered to a action-oriented approach to reasonably advance project construction. During project construction, Sinohydro Bureau 1 Co., Ltd. adhered to the principles of "advance pipe forepoling, strict grouting, short advance per round, strong support, rapid closure, and frequent measurement." For tunnel sections with large deformation in soft rock, it adopted key technologies such as advance support, reserved deformation allowance, bench excavation method, and simultaneous excavation and lining construction to solve problems such as large deformation in soft rock and crossing faults. For tunnel sections with mud and water inrush, it adopted methods such as staged mucking, advance drainage, staged advance grouting, and real-time monitoring, successfully completing treatment of tunnel sections with unfavorable geological conditions of mud and water inrush. All milestones were completed ahead of the contractual schedule, earning high praise from all participating parties and winning numerous social awards.

The successful holing-through of the tunnels in Section 7 of the Chuxiong lot of the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project is the result of the construction team of Sinohydro Bureau 1 Co., Ltd. overcoming difficulties with united efforts, and all participants feel honored and encouraged.
