with a winning bid amount of up to 264 million yuan

setting a new record for OVM's single-project bid win 

The Hannan Yangtze River Bridge is the 13th Yangtze River bridge in Wuhan and a key controlling project of the Wuhan Metropolitan Area Ring Expressway. Spanning the Yangtze River like a giant dragon, it connects Jiayu County of Xianning to the south and Hannan District of Wuhan to the north. The bridge is a double-tower single-span steel box girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1,600 meters and a design speed of 120 km/h. Once completed, the drive from Xianning to Hannan will be shortened to about 40 minutes.

 The main cable, as the "lifeline" of a suspension bridge, plays a critical role in distributing the weight of the entire bridge to the main towers and anchorages. The Hannan Bridge has 2 main cables, each about 2,880 meters long. Each main cable contains 169 parallel wire strands, and each strand consists of 127 high-strength steel wires with a diameter of 5.7 mm and a tensile strength of up to 1,960 MPa.

In main cable engineering projects, OVM has strong technical accumulation, rich project experience and outstanding innovation capability, and possesses multiple core technologies and patents, such as high-precision control technology for ultra-long main cable strands, ultra-high-strength steel wire main cable anchorage technology, and full-length distributed optical fiber intelligent strand technology. These technologies will further improve the manufacturing precision and anchorage reliability of main cable strands. At the same time, OVM has advanced main cable production lines in Wuhan, Hubei and Liuzhou, Guangxi, giving it strong delivery capability to supply full-bridge main cable products for kilometer-class suspension bridges. Notably, the Hannan Yangtze River Bridge project is located near Hubei OVM Cable Products Co., Ltd., which provides great convenience for the smooth implementation of the project. Leveraging this advantage, OVM can provide more efficient and higher-quality technical and service support for the project.

In recent years, OVM has continued to make efforts in prestressing technology and long-span bridge construction, providing main cable system solutions for multiple suspension bridges with spans exceeding one kilometer. In 2019, the Wuhan Yangsigang Yangtze River Bridge, in which OVM participated, made a stunning debut and set the world record for the span of a double-deck suspension bridge. Since then, OVM has successively participated in the construction of multiple suspension bridge projects with spans exceeding one kilometer, including the Yichang Wujiagang Yangtze River Bridge, the Guizhou Kaizhou Lake Bridge, the Guangxi Longmen Bridge, and the Chongqing Yunyang Yangtze River Bridge. The Hannan Yangtze River Bridge won this time will add another brilliant stroke to OVM's portfolio of suspension bridges with spans exceeding one kilometer.
