On April 23, the 22.9-kilometer-long Qinling Mabaishan Tunnel of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway was successfully holed through. This is currently the longest high-speed railway tunnel in China to have been completed, and its breakthrough marks a breakthrough progress in the construction of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway.

    The Qinling Mabaishan Tunnel of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway is located in Lantian County, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is a double-tube single-track tunnel that crosses the Qinling ridge, where the geological structure is complex and variable, and the construction technical difficulty and engineering risk are extremely high.

    During construction, Xicheng Passenger Dedicated Line Shaanxi Company adopted equipment such as cantilever roadheaders, anchor bolt drilling rigs, self-laying intelligent lining trolleys, and automated monitoring and measurement systems to ensure construction progress and quality. At the same time, with the help of technologies such as ground-penetrating radar, advanced geological forecasting, 3D laser scanning, and UAV oblique photography, construction parameters were adjusted in a timely manner, significantly improving construction efficiency while ensuring construction safety and quality.

    "Up to now, 13 of the 15.5 tunnels on the Shaanxi section of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway have been holed through, and both the subgrade works and bridge works have completed 96% of the total design volume. Construction of the ballastless track test section has been fully launched," said Xue Mafeng, deputy commander of the Xi'an-Shiyan Command of Xicheng Passenger Dedicated Line Shaanxi Company.

    It is understood that the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway is an important stroke of the "mi"-shaped high-speed railway network in Shaanxi. The line passes through the three cities of Xi'an, Shangluo, and Shiyan and connects to the already-built Wuhan-Shiyan High-Speed Railway. The newly built main line is 255.7 kilometers long with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, of which the Shaanxi section totals 169 kilometers and has 5 stations along the way: Xi'an East, Lantian, Shangluo West, Shanyang, and Manchuan Pass. After the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway opens, Xi'an to Shiyan will be reached within 1 hour, and the railway travel time from Xi'an to Wuhan will be shortened to about 2.5 hours.
