On April 10, 2025, the Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge, a key control project of the Wuzhou-Yulin-Qinzhou Expressway in Guangxi, was officially closed! This bridge is not only the world's largest-span single-column three-tower spatial cable suspension bridge, but also China's first three-tower spatial cable suspension bridge with a main span exceeding 500 meters, marking another world record in China's bridge construction!

01 | "Backbone" and "Lifeline": OVM Injects Core Strength into the Bridge

The Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge adopts a central single-tower design, with a cable tower total height of 108.9 meters, magnificent in scale. As a key force in the bridge's construction, OVM provided the main cable and suspender systems, effectively building the "backbone" and "lifeline" for the bridge.  

 - Main cable design: The bridge's main cable adopts a spatial cable design, with a span arrangement of 153+2×520+210 meters and a total length of 1,688 meters.  

 - Technical highlights: Each main cable consists of 37 strands, each strand containing 127 high-strength steel wires with a diameter of 6 mm and zinc-aluminum alloy coating. A single strand is about 1,504 meters long and weighs about 42 tons.  

- Innovative solution: Drawing on its manufacturing experience with multiple spatial cable suspension bridges such as the Xi'an Yuanshuo Bridge and the Huaihua Wushui Bridge, OVM tailored an innovative technical solution combining main cable strands with ST-type steel strand finished cables for the Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge, and adopted multiple protective measures to significantly enhance the anti-corrosion performance of the main cable system, safeguarding the bridge's construction!

02 | Closure Moment: Witnessing a New Height in China's Bridge Construction

As the final steel box girder was precisely connected, Huang Degeng, Deputy General Manager of Guangxi Communications Investment Group, announced the official closure of the Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge! This exciting moment attracted leaders and guests from Guangxi Expressway Investment Co., Ltd., the Wuzhou Municipal People's Government, the Teng County Party Committee, the Cangwu County Party Committee, and other units, as well as representatives of participating construction units such as CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. and OVM, who jointly witnessed the event. Liu Chengzhou, Executive Deputy General Manager of OVM, led his team to attend and celebrate this historic moment!

03 | Strategic Significance: A New Engine for Guangxi's Transportation Development

The smooth closure of the Cangrong Xunjiang Bridge is not only another milestone in the history of China's bridge construction, but also an important step in optimizing Guangxi's transportation network! Once completed, the bridge will:  

Shorten travel time: Greatly reduce travel time between Wuzhou, Teng County, and Cangwu.  

Promote regional integration: Drive the deep integration of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and the Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Belt.
